Oil Paintings

I have always thought Oil Painting would be great fun.   We were staying in a travel trailer not far from Owasso, Oklahoma and I read about this class on oil painting.  I picked up a little 5x7 board , a few paints, a couple of brushes and was off  to discover a new hobby I had never tried before.    I will never forget how confused I felt . When she started instructing she did not slow down for anyone.  By the time I figured out what medium was everyone else was finished.   Well I finished mine too.  Now you have to remember , when I left there I was so proud of what I had done I could not hardly contain myself.  Below is a Photo of my first masterpiece.

Sock Monkeys

Well guess what?  I finally remembered my password. Why in the world don't I write everything down?
I decided to make some of those Rockford Red Heel sock monkeys for my great grandkids.  Finally got them finished and gave to them.   It really kept me busy for awhile which was what I needed at the time.   Anyway I will try at this time to get a photo of them on here.  Still learning to do the blog thing.  Maybe this time I will stay with it until  I get more aquainted with everything on here.  I am really bored with TV at this time and can find nothing I want to sit and watch.   Ok, got the photos on . My great-grand-daughter posed the monkeys as if they were playing on the computer. I also knitted the hats and scarves on a Boyle Knitting Loom I purchased at Wal Mart.

Back When Everything Moved Slower

This will be my first post.  I love writing so maybe this will work for me.   I have so many thoughts  running around in my mind all the time maybe it will help to write some of them down.  Lately I find myself beginning to think about times back when everything seemed to be moving much slower.  Famlies actually went to town in wagons with a team of horses pulling it.  Hard to imagine unless you have been there.  It was actually fun. Talk about the old western movies. Some of it really happened.  It seems like we got everything done that needed to be done back then.  I remember my Mom's day was done after she had finished cooking the family meal of vegetables and meat raised on the farm.  Dad's day was done after he worked his job, came home, milked the cow and finished the chores that needed to be done. I have three sisters and our day was finished after we had done the supper dishes.  Back when I was a kid country people ate supper.  Most people eat dinner now.  Nope, ours was always supper.  Anyway. our day was over .  Now it was time to read, listen to the radio, and get ready for a good nights sleep.
